Chop Shop
Chop Shop is the brainchild of ego n friends. In the early days of Friendly Collective, he designed this concept and started testing it with minimal production. Think of it as a blend between Kenny Beats’ “The Cave” & Rhythm Roulette. The guest artist arrives to the studio and selects a random vinyl record. ego, the producer, samples the record and makes a beat while the artist writes a verse to it. All of this is done in the span of 3 hours.
The goal of Chop Shop is to allow talented artists to flex their writing muscles off-the-cuff and show off ego n friends’ producing skills.
